Adventure to Eastwood [03142015]

Saturday morning, my Aunt sent me a text message inviting us to a her partner's surprise birthday party at Eastwood, Libis at 6pm the same day.  I sent my confirmation, thinking that it's easy to commute to Eastwood from UP Diliman, where I am having my Japanese Language classes every Saturday.

I have commuted to Eastwood but from Mandaluyong.  I rode jeep going to IPI (Ortigas Extension) then transferred to another jeep going to Cubao as it would pass by Eastwood.  However, this time, I would be from another side of Quezon City.

So after our class, I asked friends and my classmates if they knew how to get to Eastwood. A classmate suggested I take a Katipunan jeep because she said Eastwood is at the end of Katipunan. But she didn't know what transportation I should take next.  I didn't want to take the risk because I didn't want to be forced to take a cab by myself if ever there was a dead end.

So I decided to go to Trinoma instead, hoping that there's a UV going to Eastwood.  Once I got there, I asked the guard and he suggested I check their UV terminal.

It was already nearing 3pm so I had to hurry.  I bought a (super cute!) Rosary first (because I left mine at home) then headed to the Chapel to pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.  Then went to Landmark's food court, bought a chocolate chip muffin from Dunkin' Donuts that I havent't eaten in years, borrowed a plate from KFC and enjoyed the live band that was playing ratpack songs.

I asked a few staff members about commuting to Eastwood and they all suggested I to Cubao then take a jeepney to Eastwood. Even so, I still hoped there's a UV so I went to their UV terminal.  Alas! I saw a sign that said MONTALBAN/EASTWOOD.  I asked about the fare before entering the UV and the conductor asked if I was headed to Eastwood, Libis.  I said yes then he shook his head.  This was going to Montalban/Eastwood (apparently, there's Eastwood in Montalban?) The lady behind me pointed the sign that said EASTWOOD, LIBIS but the conductor said there aren't any UV's that actually go to Eastwood, Libis.  I said thanks but checked out the sign instead.

I asked the guys that were standing and they all said I should just go to Cubao.  With one last try, I crossed the bridge and went to SM North EDSA's terminal but to no avail.  Again, the guys said I should go to Cubao.

I went back to Trinoma and rented a computer.  I felt like I was in The Amazing Race.  I got my backpack and I was sweating and hurrying up because I wanted to get to Eastwood before the sun sets.

I learned that there are UV's from Quezon Avenue but upon further reading, I found out that those UV's are only available in the morning.  I did a quick check of my social media accounts then logged off. I figured going to Cubao was the best option.  I didn't want to go all the way to Shaw then take the two jeeps.

I rode the MRT to Cubao and walked to Gateway then I asked people and guards and they said I would find the jeepneys going to Eastwood at Save More.  One guard said, "Ma'am, there are four kinds of jeepneys that pass by Save More.  Only ride a jeep that has ROSARIO, PASIG.  Don't forget, Ma'am ah! ROSARIO, PASIG.  Just the jeep with ROSARIO, PASIG!"  I kind of laughed and thanked him for the information.

I walked and asked random people where Save More was until I saw it.  I also saw jeepneys and found one with the Rosario, Pasig sign waiting for people to ride.  I asked the driver if it would pass by Eastwood and he nodded.  I rode in front (yeeeey!) so I could see where I was going.  I just thought that if somebody would sit beside me, I would go down first and let him/her in.  But the one that sat beside me was a guy who looked kind so I didn't bother exchanging places with him.  It was a good thing, too because he got all the sunlight. Hehehe!

There wasn't any traffic and pretty soon I saw the familiar buildings of Eastwood.  The ride was really short, maybe around 6 to 10 minutes.  And the fare was 10php, too!  I was dropped off at the overpass.  I just crossed it and voila! I was already inside the Eastwood Compound.  I was really happy about making the right decision. It was only 5:20pm.

I looked for the venue first and enjoyed the cool, relaxing but fun ambiance of Eastwood.  I saw The Palazzo then went to Eastwood Mall to do some errands.  Then walked back to The Palazzo where I suddenly saw my Aunt and niece and they told me where the party was.  I nodded and they went back to their condo unit to dress up.

And that was the end! The party and the food were awesome.  It was fun talking with my cousins and relatives.  Going home, I rode in my Uncle's car and they dropped me off at home. YEEEY! :D
